Why Surrogacy?

Welcome to our Blog! We are Steph and Mike (both 40), an adventurous couple from Guelph, Ontario and we are searching for a surrogate. We have been together for 18 years and married nine. Even our wedding was an adventure as we got married on top of a mountain!

Steph is a child psychologist and professor, and Mike is a software engineer (cue everyone saying “that’s so cool!”). We love travelling as well as being active outdoors and playing several sports. Between the two of us we ski, snowboard, snowshoe, play hockey, bike, dragon boat, row, and hike regularly. Steph even competed at Dragon Boat Nationals right before our wedding in 2015! In our downtime, Mike plays video games and enjoys sci fi movies and Steph cooks and crochets while binging her fav shows (Ted Lasso, Scrubs, Bridgerton).

Our household isn’t just us – we are animal lovers with two wonderful cats. Isabel, is our 8-year-old 18lb furball who spends her days sleeping and Zelda is our 1-year-old ocicat who has 2 modes: cuddling on Mike’s lap or zooming around the house at full speed!

We have had a challenging road to starting our family with an infant loss at 24 weeks and multiple miscarriages. We have been told it is unlikely Steph can carry to term. Despite these challenges, we are incredibly optimistic about what the future holds with the potential for a surrogate to help make our dream of building a family come true!

We are now searching for that amazing person who wants to join us on this adventure to help us build our family and fulfill our dreams of being parents. Maybe she’ll even end the tiebreaker in our long-standing family debates over the superior candy-coated chocolate: M&Ms or Smarties, and hockey teams: Leafs or Red Wings!
